Admissions

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

There are two ways in which a child may become a pupil at our school and there are different ways of applying for each of these.

Starting in Reception Class

Firstly, if your child will be 5 during the next academic year and you would like this to be their first school, you need to apply directly to Somerset Council using the following link.  Applications need to be received by mid January for the following September.  Lots of useful information is contained within this link as well as the application form.  This includes details of the over-subscription criteria.

If your child is starting with us in Reception, we run an induction process.  A letter will be sent to you detailing how the process works. This may be helpful when planning childcare for this induction period.

In-Year Applications

If your child is already attending a school elsewhere and you would like to transfer your child to Bishop's Hull Primary school, you need to apply directly to the school.  Please complete the In-Year Application Form (see below).  Once this form is complete, please return it to the school office where we will consider your application.  If there is space within the year group then we will happily accept your child.  If, however, that year group is already full, we will contact you to advise you that there is no space.  You then have the right to appeal that decision with Somerset Council.
