LITERACY
Autobiography
An autobiography is an account of a person's life written by that person.
I would like you to complete some research about the day you were born. You will need to speak to grown-ups at home. You might have a baby book that has details about the day you were born. Here are some questions to ask mum or dad. You may think of other things to ask them.
When was I born (you'll know the answer to this yourself)
Where was I born?
What time of day was I born?
What was the weather like?
How much did I weigh?
Did I have any hair?
What colour were my eyes?
Were there any other names I might have been called?
Were there any sweet things I did on the first few days after I was born?
Was I given a special toy/gift?
What was happening in the country/world on the day I was born?
PLEASE RECORD THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS USING SENTENCES. WRITE THE TITLE 'The Day I Was Born'.

If we use our 'zoom lens' on the UK, we can see that it is divided into regions. We live in South West England (or The Southwest). It is known as a peninsula as it is bordered mostly by water (this might help you spot it on a map). Click here to explore the regions of the United Kingdom.
The UK is divided into smaller areas called counties. Which county do we live in? Click here to explore the counties of the United Kingdom.
Switzerland is also divided into smaller regions. They are known as cantons.
Today, we are going to focus our 'zoom lens' on the canton of Valais (French name). Find out why its German name should be easy to remember!
