Last week you invented a detective. Today, I would like you to invent his or her 'sidekick'. Write a character description of your second detective. Give details about the person's appearance, mannerisms and special skills. Perhaps he/she wears a disguise to go 'undercover'. Perhaps he/she employs logic and reasoning to make deductions. Does he/she have an amazing ability to spot clues?

WRITING

Now that you have invented your DETECTIVE DUO, think about their office.

Are they famous detectives with an office full of the latest equipment?

Do they have a modern office with a wonderful view from the window?

Perhaps they are not yet famous and their office is above a takeaway in the High Street.

Write the title, 'The Detective's Office' in the middle of you paper and draw a bubble around it. Write your ideas about what the office might be like around the title. Use descriptive language. Think about what you might see, hear and smell. Can you use similes? Be creative. Have fun!
