Literacy
For this literacy unit we are following the Somerset Literacy Network plan on Somerset Folktales! For this we are going to be particularly looking at the story of, 'The Seven Sisters'.

Today's activity is in 2 parts.......
Part 1
The king and his daughters had opposite views on singing and dancing. Whenever he saw them singing and dancing, he would get very angry.
Imagine that the king and his daughters had a serious discussion on the subject. He tried to persuade them not to sing or dance and they argued why they should be allowed to sing and dance.
List all the reasons the king would give to try to persuade them not to sing and dance any more. Can you add to the list?
Now list all the reasons the princesses would give to persuade the king to let them sing and dance. Can you add to this list too?
Part 2
I would like you to write a letter to the King as on of the princesses. Try to persuade him to let you sing and dance!
I would like you to spend some time every day reading your reading book or any book you are enjoying. It is great to read to others but it is also good to do some independent reading! Maybe you could send in some book reviews that we could share on our webpage!
Spellings
Today we are looking our new unit 21 spellings. As always they will be updated on the spelling tab on the front of our class webpage.
RE
Today we are concluding AMV RE unit 1 -What do Jewish people believe about God and the Covenant and Torah?
We have looked at many aspects of Judaism, such as Abraham and the covenant, Moses and the 10 plagues, Moses and the 10 commandments, the Torah, the Synagogue and many import Jewish symbols and festivals! That is a lot! So to finish off this topic of RE and ready to start our next topic focussing on Christianity and Easter, I would like you to create a leaflet all about the Jewish faith. Create it so that it could help someone who knows nothing about this faith. I shall leave links to videos and PowerPoints below to help you. Please bring them in for next week, I would love to create a display with them!
