Maths Extension
Continue with your booklets from last week (see attached below).
You can also go onto MathShed and practice your times-tables and their inverse.
Click here for a link to the website, you log in through Edshed.
Literacy
This week we are going to be starting a new unit all about the story, 'Stone Age Boy' by Satoshi Kitamura.
Watch below for a YouTube video of the story and please find the file below of the story text.
This is a great story all about how a boy falls into the Stone Age world.
To begin our journey into this story I have attached a storyboard so that you can retell the story in pictures and some words. This will help us later on next week when we start to think about creating our own story of time travel! On the storyboard are six boxes, try to break the story up into six key points of what happens. Have fun with this!
Reading
I would like you to spend some time every day reading your reading book or any book you are enjoying. It is great to read to others but it is also good to do some independent reading! Maybe you could send in some book reviews that we could share on our webpage!
REMEMBER, we now have a great website called GetEpic! It would be wonderful to see you using that as well!
Read, Write Inc
In Read Write Inc we are continuing looking at unit 7 focussing on words with the sound c spelt ch, it is on page 28 - 31. But today I would like you to just work on page 30 and complete the log and learn, dictation and four-in-a-row activities. Tomorrow we shall go onto choose the right word, team teach and jumping orange word activities.
Do remember to practice for your test on Wednesday.
REMEMBER, you can always go back over previous units and complete and work which you did not quite finish.
Science
Today we are going to continue looking at light and dark. Last week we focussed on reflective surfaces but today we are going to focus on marvellous mirrors! There is a PowerPoint attached below helping to explain, it also includes some small activities for investigation. The main activity today will be creating a quiz for someone at home! Also you will be writing messages to reflect in the mirror. Have fun!
