In maths today we are working on estimating answers to questions.
Below is the video of today's lesson. Have a watch and then try the activity linked below. I have also put in the answers to mark your work when you are finished.
We are beginning to look at a new unit for literacy. This will be looking at instructions! We use instructions all of the time. Can you think of any places where they may be? Come up with 10 different ways we use them.
Once you have thought of that, have a look at the PowerPoint below, it explains instructions and how we use them. I would then like you to have a look at the text below and have a go at annotating the different techniques used in instructions. I have also attached an annotated text so that you can compare yours afterwards.
Tomorrow and next week we shall be having a go at creating our own instructions and eventually using them to create our own healthy muffins!
I would like you to spend some time every day reading your reading book or any book you are enjoying. It is great to read to others but it is also good to do some independent reading! Maybe you could send in some book reviews that we could share on our webpage!
Today we are looking our unit 12 spellings. As always they will be updated on the spelling tab on the front of our class webpage.
This term we are beginning our new history topic on The Romans! What do you already know about them? Have a go at creating a mind-map of all your prior knowledge about them. Use books and videos to help remind you if you need to.
Once you have some this we will begin to look at the Romans.
Today we are going to focus on the founding of Rome - where did it all begin?
Attached below is a reading comprehension text all about Romulus and Remus, who were believed to have began Rome. I would like you to have a go at reading through this legend and then have a go at answering questions about this text. In the document there is a 1 star text for a little challenge, a 2 star text for some challenge and a 3 star text for more challenge. Do choose which text best suits you. Remember, feeling challenged is a great thing, it is how we learn!
