Summer Term Information

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your support. The pandemic has certainly made it a tricky year. We are looking forward to a Summer Term where, hopefully, we can be together in school for the whole term.

Our usual weekly routines remain the same. P.E will be on a Monday and the children can wear their kit to school on that day. Home learning will be sent home on a Tuesday and Friday. Please look at the HOME LEARNING STAR for more details.

If at any point during the term your family needs to self isolate, please click on the rainbow for information.

We continually talk to the class about the importance of reading regularly at home. Learning how to read confidently is a wonderful gift to give future selves. Being a fluent reader will help your child in every curriculum area. Similarly, a quick recall of mental maths will help enormously.

Here are some of the things we are learning about this term:

  • MATHS   Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, Measurement, Properties of Shape and Position and Direction
  • ENGLISH - Narrative (stories that raise an environmental issue) Recounts (including a nature diary) Persuasive writing (plastics) Poetry - Finding a Voice (poetry that responds to an issue)
  •  SCIENCE - Living Things and their Habitats, Animals Including Humans, Puberty
  • GEOGRAPHY - Globalisation and Trade links, Fair trade
  • ART - Artist study MC Escher, Tessellation art, Observational drawing and painting of the natural world
  • COMPUTING- We Are Artists - designing and creating digital art, We Are Yearbook Creators creating an ICT summary of the year, E-safety
  • RELIGIOUS EDUCATION- What do Moslem people believe about Islam and Iman?
  •  PHYSICAL EDUCATION - Multi-skills and Athletics
  • MUSIC- Charanga Music
  •

Please continue to look at the class page as  information and photos will be added. If you have any questions or worries, please contact the school and we will get back to you.

Kind regards

Mrs Payne and Mrs Wallis
