Maths Extension
Today I would like you to have a go at the word problems attached below. They particularly focus on the 3, 4 and 8 times tables.
You can also go onto MathShed and practice your times-tables and their inverse.
Click here for a link to the website, you log in through Edshed.
Literacy
Today is our last activity from, 'The Truth About Trolls' booklet. Using page 16 to help you and your planning from yesterday, you are now going to create you own text all about trolls. Maybe you could come up with a new name? Maybe you could illustrate it with lots of images of trolls and their life? If you would like to, you could then send me a copy of your text. I would love to see them and I could even publish them on our class webpage!
In the next literacy unit lesson we will complete this by writing our own troll story!
Remember our new home learning email address is learningathome.034@educ.somerset.gov.uk
Read, Write Inc
In Read Write Inc we are continuing looking at our new unit, this is unit 6 focussing on words ending in -ation, it is on page 24 - 27. But today I would like you to just work on page 27 and complete - choose the right word, team teach and jumping orange word activities.
The jumping words this week are -
breath
busy
early
heard
circle
quarter
Remember the jumping orange words are the national curriculum statutory words for year 3 and 4. Try to practice them and also use them within your writing!
Tomorrow we will do our test!
Reading
I would like you to spend some time every day reading your reading book or any book you are enjoying. It is great to read to others but it is also good to do some independent reading! Maybe you could send in some book reviews that we could share on our webpage!
REMEMBER, we now have a great website called GetEpic! It would be wonderful to see you using that as well!
Art
I would like you to create a drawing/ sculpture of your troll! You could use any material you have at home - collage, paint, pastel, charcoal, colouring pencils, clay, lego ……..etc. Then have a go at retelling your text, using your troll image/ sculpture to help you.
Again, I would love to see these, so if you can please send them into learningathome.034@educ.somerset.gov.uk
