Maths

In maths today we are continuing looking at fractions.

Below is the video of today's lesson.  Have a watch and then try the activity linked below.  I have also put in the answers to mark your work when you are finished.

Spr3.11.3 - Non-unit fractions

Maths Extensions

Attached below is a file of extra reasoning problems.  Have a go at a few of these to help extend your learning of fractions.

Literacy

Over the last week we have been looking at local folk tales, mainly focussing on, The Seven Sisters.  We also discussed other stories about transforming characters.

So for today and tomorrow we are going to be writing our own folk tale where the main character/s transform into something which will help them.  This may be permanent or just temporary - you decide!

Plan and begin your first draft today and then tomorrow you can finish and edit them.  Finally you could make your best copy.  I would love to see them when you are next in.

Reading

I would like you to spend some time every day reading your reading book or any book you are enjoying.  It is great to read to others but it is also good to do some independent reading!  Maybe you could send in some book reviews that we could share on our webpage!

Spellings

Today we are looking our new unit 22 spellings.  As always they will be updated on the spelling tab on the front of our class webpage.

History

We have been looking at The Romans and their input into our lives today.  So for you activity today, I would like you to look into the Roman legacy and what they left behind.  Below are PowerPoints of some of the most important things that they created.  I would like you to write a fact-file all about what they left behind and how we still use them today.  Again, I look forward to seeing what you discover!

From roads to baths, numerals to months of the year, the Romans still have an influence in our lives today!
