Maths Extension

Today our extension will be the problem below.  Try to have a go at it!

You can also go onto MathShed and practice your addition and subtraction calculations.

Literacy

On a Wednesday we will be working for our Collins English Workbooks.

Today I would like the white sticker group to work on page 72-73 looking at writing for different purposes. Remember to read it carefully to help you understand what the text is saying.  You also get to write instructions and a letter today!

Today I would like the no sticker group to work on page 70-71 on learning from other writers.  On this page there are many challenges and some are revisiting using better words.  There is also the last question which asks you to describe the beach.  I would like you to put lots of detail into this.

The second part of today's activity is to practice your handwriting.  Click here for a Google Classroom video for your handwriting.  It will also show you your activity!

Read Write Inc

In Read Write Inc we are continuing looking at unit 10 focussing on words with the suffix -ian, it is on page 41-44.  But today I would like you to just work on page 44

and complete - choose the right word, team teach and jumping orange word activities.

For this week you are going to pick 6 jumping orange words from the list below.  Make sure to choose words we have not worked on before.

The jumping words are -

Remember the jumping orange words are the national curriculum statutory words for year 3 and 4.  Try to practice them and also use them within your writing!

Tomorrow we will do our test!

Reading

I would like you to spend some time every day reading your reading book or any book you are enjoying.  It is great to read to others but it is also good to do some independent reading!  Maybe you could send in some book reviews that we could share on our webpage!

REMEMBER, we now have a great website called GetEpic!  It would be wonderful to see you using that as well!

Topic

Today we are going to be starting to look at the Iron Age!  Linked below is a PowerPoint and a research map.  I would like you to do some research into this time period and create (or use the one below) a mind-map of all the facts you find out from this time period.  This is similar to what we did for The Stone Age and The Bronze Age. Then, as we progress through the topic, we will look at all of the facts in more detail.
