MATHS

Negative Numbers

Negative numbers are those which are below zero.

They are used in many different situations.

  • cold temperatures below freezing
  • bank balances (debt)
  • depths below sea level (under water)

Math Antics - Negative Numbers

Work through the negative number worksheet below.

SPELLING

Plural spelling rules - revision

  • To make most words plural, we add s.

chair - chairs

lion - lions

 

  • If a word ends ch, sh, x, ss or z, add es.

fox - foxes

church - churches

wish - wishes

buzz - buzzes

glass - glasses

 

  • If a word ends in y, change the y to an i and add es.

activity - activities

memory - memories

 

However, if there is a vowel before the y, just add s.

guy - guys

trolley - trolleys

 

Look on the spelling star. Learn the singular and plural spellings. Write a sentence for each plural word on the list.

 

 

PSHE

Anger

Anger is an emotion. Anger is a feeling that everyone experiences.

 

GOOD ANGER 

Good anger doesn't hurt anyone.

Anger can motivate us to demand change.

e.g Greta Thunberg  - climate and environment changes

 

BAD ANGER

It is not ok to hurt others or property when we are angry.

 

 

Get to Know your "Inside Out" Emotions: Anger

Many things can make us feel angry.

 

                     someone breaks a promise             missing the bus

Please list some things that make you feel angry.

 

 

What are the physical signs of anger? List them

e.g. fast breathing

Cinquains are poems that have a specific five line structure.

1st line: 2 syllables

2nd line: 4 syllables

3rd line: 6 syllables

4th line: 8 syllables

5th line:  2 syllables

 

SYLLABLES CONTAIN A VOWEL OR HAVE A VOWEL SOUND. WE CAN CLAP SYLLABLES.
