Spellings - Using one of this weeks new spellings how many times can you write it in 30 seconds, ask an adult to time you! Whats your highest score? Repeat with a new spelling.

If you have a copy of the Snail and the Whale story, show the front cover, if not a picture of the front cover is in a word document attached below. Look at the picture and talk about what you can see,

What do you think will happen in this story?

Predict what might happen if the story is unknown

If you know the ending of the story, can you think it's different one? What would your ending be?

Snail and the Whale


After the story ask some questions such as;

  • Should the snail of gone with the whale?
  • What would the other snails have said to him?
  • Would you go if you were him?
  • Why was he so determined to help?
  • What would you do if you were the snail?
