Behaviour
At Bishop’s Hull Primary School, behaviour is good and pupils can learn and feel safe.
We believe that the most important aspect in pupils feeling valued, safe and secure is the sense of connection and trust.
Our aim is to:
Provide a safe, happy, friendly and respectful environment which encourages each individual to achieve their own potential through a desire for excellence
Enable staff to support pupils with their feelings and behaviour through providing pupils with strategies to manage their own feelings and behaviour
Maintain a calm and purposeful working atmosphere: we believe that good behaviour has a positive effect on progress and learning
To ensure that all pupils and our school community have a sense of belonging, feeling safe, secure and valued
Provide a clear, fair and consistent approach to behaviour
Foster, nurture and value strong and healthy relationships
Ensure that our pupils are intrinsically motivated to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. We recognise that most pupils self-regulate their behaviour and behave very well every day and never need reminding about how to behave safely; others may need support to do this more effectively
It is essential that there is consistency in dealing with behaviour throughout the school. The behaviour policy and procedures are therefore reviewed and agreed by all members of teaching and support staff.
Parental support is of crucial importance so we ask that families help support the school by promoting positive behaviour: good manners and thoughtfulness are encouraged and pupils are praised for demonstrating these qualities.
