Welcome

It has been a pleasure to welcome everyone back after the Christmas break. I hope you all enjoyed a restful and happy holiday with family and friends, and that the new year has started well.

The children have returned to school with smiles, enthusiasm and a real readiness to learn, which has been wonderful to see. Our staff team has been busy preparing engaging learning experiences for the term ahead and we are all looking forward to another positive and productive few weeks together.

You will notice a refreshed look to our newsletter this term and we hope you enjoy the new format. We are also in the process of launching a new school Facebook page which will help us share news, celebrations and information more easily with our school community.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I wish all our families a happy, healthy and successful year ahead.

Mrs Kerry Exon

Headteacher

Forest School

Dormouse Class enjoyed their first Forest School session. It was lovely to see them exploring lots of new activities and areas, turn-taking, working together and enjoying themselves. Miss Brimble was impressed with how well they listened to instructions.

New Books

Thank you to everyone  who took part in the Sponsored Read before the summer holidays. We have now received lots and lots of new books for the school which are being distributed to the classrooms and the library. We always love getting new books and we know Usbourne produce such lovely books for all ages so thank you again to everyone who helped us to get these.

NSPCC Visit

Today, Hedgehog, Dragonfly and Kingfisher Classes had a visit from the NSPCC. They spoke to the children about ways they can stay safe and who they can talk to.

PTA May Fayre

The next project for the PTA to fund in school is a beautiful revamp of the library, especially to create welcoming seating areas for all our children.

We are soon expecting delivery of the free books that were earned via the Scholastic Book Fair in October but the BIG EVENT that will help us to make the revamp a reality is the Annual PTA May Fair - this year to be held on Saturday 16th May 2026.

The PTA urgently needs volunteers to help with elements like the bar, cafe, games, raffle and much more. Without additional support, this event may not be able to go ahead.

So please put Monday 26th January in your diary!

Your time, ideas and support—no matter how big or small—make a huge difference. The May Fayre is a much‑loved school event and we would be incredibly grateful for any help you can offer.

Thank you very much.
