LEARNING TOGETHER AT HOME
Home learning is important. It helps the children to reinforce, practise and develop the skills and knowledge that they have been taught in class.
Please help, guide and support your child. Your encouragement and support will boost their self esteem and confidence. It will also help them to become self-motivated.
We encourage the children to be responsible. Home learning should be completed and handed in on the right day. It is also right and proper that books and equipment are treated with care.
HOME LEARNING EXPECTATIONS
EACH WEEK
Maths, grammar and spelling work will be set each Friday. This is to be completed by the Thursday the following week
Each child has a CGP Book to suit an area of the curriculum we feel they need to work on. Each wee the children will be asked to complete a certain number of pages and to bring the book in on a Friday for an adult to then look through and direct further.
Spelling activities are set weekly on SPELLING SHED.
DAILY
READING
Parents - please aim to read with your child 3 times a week (or more) and comment in their Reading Diary.
Children - try to read at home every night and record your daily independent reading in your Reading Diary.
TIMES TABLE PRACTICE
Learn some times table facts every night.
The children all have personal logins and passwords for Times Table Rockstars.
